Michael Jackson Radio

It sure seems I will be covering Michael Jackson news for quite a while to come.

There are so many wrinkles to this story that need to be ironed out:
  • Circumstances of death/autopsy results
  • Drug use/Physician administered or otherwise
  • General condition prior to death
  • Child Custody
  • Estate control and possible surprise claims of entitlement
  • Music rights/Future use
  • London concert ticket refunds
  • Police inquiries
  • Civil Rights
  • Jackson's Legacy

These topics are just of the top of my head. I am sure there are plenty more, but they are all coming, fast and furious.

Stay tuned. (Don't forget to listen to me on KFWB AM 980 in Los Angeles, Monday-Friday, 4:30-9am Pacific time).

I know. I know...

I know I've been m.i.a. for a couple weeks. Wedding anniversary, Wife's Birthday, daughter's 8th grade promotion, a week of staycation (painting and sprucing up a bathroom and a bedroom), have all contributed to my absence from blogdom. But, I promise to return in full form this coming week.

Thanks for your patience.

So You Think You Can...Shut Up

My daughters were watching Fox TV's "So You Think You Can Dance?" last night. The funniest think was happening. Every time a dance team would finish their routine, and the attention would turn to the judges opinions of what just happened, my daughters would mute the volume when it was Mary Murphy's turn to offer opinion. As soon as Murphy was done, they would turn the volume back on.

I asked my daughters why they were doing this, and the best way I can explain their answers is, they are violently annoyed by Murphy.

Murphy has apparently become known for delivering an ear-piercing scream whenever she's happy about something. But, according to my girls, Murphy has so much more to offer, in a not-so-good way.

Are my daughters alone in their opinion of Murphy, or are the ranks of people who run, figuratively screaming, from the Murphy voice increasing?

If you haven't made up your mind yet, here's your chance. Watch the video below.

Stanley Cup Final Game 7 Prediction

Oh crap. This sucks. Home ice has been very good in this series. It's a lot like the Ducks/Devils final that I believe might still be going today were it not for the 7-game limit. My prediction? I want the Pens to pull it out, but I believe it is not likely considering the advantage the Red Wings have at "The Joe." So, let's take it to overtime, where Penguins' forward Petr Sykora will take a break-away shot, only to be stopped by Wings' goalie, Chris Osgood. Detroit then advances a high rebound for a lightning fast 3 on 2 break, and Pavel Datsyuk scores the Cup winner.

How's that for specifics?

Crystal Clear Thought - Sparkling Wonder

I saw something odd this morning in the company kitchen/lunch room. An employee (who will remain nameless) was holding his bottle of San Pellegrino water under the tap, filling it up. I assumed he was rinsing it out for one reason or another, but when he was done filling to the top, he walked away and took a healthy swig of the Department of Water and Power's finest blend.

What just happened? Is he attempting to look trendy while living a lie? Or, is there something more of a commentary on society's ills here? It's not a stretch to say the marketing of bottled water is one of the best con jobs on consumers in the history of con jobs (maybe "Lather, Rinse. Repeat" was bigger). Add to this, the Agua Pellegrino which comes from a pristine spring somewhere in Italy, is owned by multi-national conglomerate, Nestle. Yup, the very same people who bring you NesQuik, Häagen-Dazs and Hot Pockets! Perhaps this nameless employee is sipping (backwash aside) in the face of corporate greed, by mocking one of the most prestigious brands in the history of retail marketing trickery.

On second thought, maybe he was just really thirsty.

Megan Fox: Pretty...Ugly!

Go ahead, try and disagree with me when I say Megan Fox is one of, maybe the top three best-looking women in entertainment out there. Well, as hot as she may be, folks in middle America may be overheated about the ugliness that seems to flow freely from her beautiful mouth.

Promoting her new flick, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", Fox made this comment about what she would say to movie robot "Megatron" to keep him from destroying the world. "I'd barter with him," she says in an interview with "Total Film UK" magazine, "and say instead of the entire planet, can you just take out all of the white trash, hillbilly, anti-gay, super bible-beating people in Middle America?". Note to Megan: Hey, babe, you're hot...go with it. The sound thing, it isn't working so well for your career. You're going to want middle America on your side at some point, perhaps...when your movies hit theaters!

Fox is no stranger to dropping "I-really-don't-need-any-more-friends" bombs, She recently told London’s “Daily Mirror” how much she dislikes onscreen kissing, she, “equated big-screen love scenes to prostitution.” She also stated in 2008 that, “Mickey Mouse folks ‘make her sick.’”

Her lack of a filter may drop her down a few clicks on annual "Hottest" lists, but she may start popping up on some "3 People, Alive or Dead, I'd Most Like to Have Lunch With" lists. She gets the bill, though!

ESA Announces 2010 E3 Expo Dates—June 15-17, 2010

Press release:

Los Angeles, CA – June 4, 2009 – The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) today closed the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo) and announced that the 2010 E3 Expo will take place from June 15-17, 2010, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Over the course of the 2009 E3 Expo, more than 41,000 attendees from 78 countries viewed hundreds of new products and developments from 216 exhibitors.

The 2009 E3 Expo was designed to better meet the needs of exhibitors and attendees by focusing on value, while maintaining the excitement and energy that fuels the $22 billion U.S. marketplace for computer and video game entertainment.

“We are pleased that this year’s E3 Expo was so successful for our members and exhibitors in terms of sales, business development and profile-building,” said Michael D. Gallagher, president and CEO of the ESA, the trade association that represents U.S. computer and video game publishers and owns the E3 Expo. “E3 Expo is truly the world stage and spotlight that the interactive entertainment industry has earned as a leader in entertainment. We are looking forward to building on this great momentum for 2010.”

"The E3 Expo has returned as the premiere annual destination for the global games industry," said Graham Hopper, executive vice president and general manager, Disney Interactive Studios. "The excitement the show generates and the ability for us to showcase our portfolio to a worldwide media, retail and consumer audience is an important business driver."

“The ESA has put on a great show for the game industry," said Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello. "E3 2009 reflected the vitality, innovation and global presence of a rapidly growing industry. I'm already looking forward to next year's event."

“Xbox 360 was pleased to be a part of a rejuvenated E3 this year and to see the interactive entertainment industry really shine and reach new audiences,” said Don Mattrick, senior vice president, Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business. “We look forward to being at E3 next year and continuing to redefine the future of home entertainment.”

“This year’s E3 exceeded expectations and SouthPeak Games was proud to be a part of it,” commented Richard Iggo, vice president for marketing at SouthPeak Interactive Corporation. “For us, E3 is about building our brand, showcasing titles, and making the business connections necessary to deliver high-quality entertainment and we were able to accomplish all of that. This is once again the industry’s launchpad for computer and video game news.”

6th Sense Technology?

Interesting presentation about an emerging technology, at least it's presented that way, that allows you to have the sort of 6th sense abilities that Tom Cruise had in the movie "The Minority Report." Watch the video below, but be sure to hear everything. The final sentence from the presenter is an example of how new technology can be so intoxicating, that we may suspend personal values to make a leap we may otherwise think is a bad move. See if you agree.

American Capitalism Gone With a Whimper

Did you miss this editorial from the English version of Pravda? I've always said, "Pay attention" when it comes to freedom and the government. Though the below is opinion, it certainly causes (the thinking) to think. At the very least, By posting it here, I hope it encourages the reader to, "Pay Attention."

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.
First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America’s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.
