Ducks to Launch "Movember" in D.C. Tonight
George Parros (host), Teemu Selanne, Ryan Getzlaf, Saku Koivu, Corey Perry and several other members of the Anaheim Ducks will get a clean shave at The Art of Shaving in Washington D.C. (address below) in support of “Movember” tonight (Oct. 31).
The Ducks are in Washington D.C. today in advance of Tuesday’s game against the Capitals. “Movember” is an annual charity event during the month of November where men grow moustaches to raise awareness for men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned left wing Jean-Francois Jacques to the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Jacques, 26 (4/29/85), has appeared in four contests with Syracuse this season, collecting one assist (0-1=1) with two penalty minutes (PIM) and an even plus/minus rating. The 6-4, 220-pound winger was recalled by Anaheim on Oct. 23 but did not make an NHL appearance prior to today’s reassignment. Signed by Anaheim as a free agent on July 6, Jacques was originally assigned to Syracuse on Sept. 29.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Jacques appeared in 51 games for the Edmonton Oilers in 2010-11, collecting 4-1=5 points with 63 PIM. He tied a career high in goals and established a personal best in appearances during his sixth season with Edmonton. In addition, Jacques ranked fifth on the Oilers with 111 hits. He also appeared in four AHL games with Oklahoma City last season, recording one goal (1-0=1) with 15 PIM.
Selected by Edmonton in the second round (68th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Jacques has scored 9-8=17 points with 185 PIM in 160 career NHL games. He made his professional debut with the Edmonton Roadrunners (AHL) in 2004-05 and has since appeared in 154 career AHL games, earning 47-56=103 points with 282 PIM.

Patrick Maroon Called Up to Anaheim

–The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled left wing Patrick Maroon from the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). Maroon, 23 (4/23/88), appeared in six games with Syracuse this season, collecting 4-4=8 points with a +6 rating and 15 penalty minutes (PIM). At the time of his recall, Maroon ranked tied for fourth among AHL leaders in plus/minus and tied for 13th in goals. He was originally recalled by Anaheim on Oct. 16 but did not appear in a game with the NHL club before being reassigned to Syracuse on Oct. 18. Acquired from Philadelphia with David Laliberte in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on Nov. 21, 2010, Maroon scored one goal in two preseason games with Anaheim last month. Selected by Philadelphia in the sixth round (161st overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Maroon has appeared in 220 AHL games with Philadelphia (2007-09), Adirondack (2009-11) and Syracuse (2010-11), scoring 64-98=162 with 300 PIM. The St. Louis, MO native has also appeared in four career Calder Cup Playoff games with the Phantoms, earning 1-2=3 points with 13 PIM.

Ducks Announce 2011-2012 Regular Season Schedule
Ducks Open 19th NHL Year in Europe as part of the 2011 Compuware NHL Premiere;
Anaheim Home Opener Slated for Oct. 14 vs. Pacific Division rival San Jose
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The National Hockey League (NHL) today announced the complete regular season schedule for the 2011-12 NHL campaign. The Ducks will open their 19th year in the NHL as one of four teams participating in the 2011 Compuware NHL Premiere in Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden. Anaheim begins the season against the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, Oct. 7 at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki before moving to Stockholm to play the New York Rangers on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Ericsson Globe Arena.
Following the 2011 Compuware NHL Premiere, the Ducks will return to the U.S. to host the Pacific Division rival San Jose Sharks in their 2011-12 Home Opener on Friday, Oct. 14 at Honda Center (7:05 p.m.). Anaheim’s 2011-12 regular season schedule includes 82 games in total, 40 at Honda Center, 40 on the road in North American venues and two in Europe. For the fourth consecutive season, the Ducks will play six games against Pacific Division opponents (24 games total), four games against each non-divisional Western Conference team (40 games), and 18 contests against Eastern Conference opponents. Anaheim will play each NHL team at least once in 2011-12, including the newly-relocated Winnipeg franchise on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the MTS Centre.
Highlights from the home schedule include visits from the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins on Sunday, Mar. 25 (5:05 p.m.), Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday, Nov. 27 (5:05 p.m.), Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, Nov. 30 (7:05 p.m.), and Philadelphia Flyers on Friday, Dec. 2 (7:05 p.m.). The Ducks will also host the Chicago Blackhawks for their annual day-after Thanksgiving game on Friday, Nov. 25 and the Colorado Avalanche for the second consecutive New Year’s Eve game at Honda Center on Saturday, Dec. 31 (5:05 p.m.). The Ducks will play home and road games versus the Sabres, Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes, and take on every other Eastern Conference team once. Other Eastern Conference teams to visit Anaheim in 2011-12 include the New York Islanders (Jan. 6) and Ottawa Senators (Jan. 21). Anaheim will face its Southern California rival Los Angeles Kings at Honda Center on Thurs., Nov. 17 (7:05 p.m.), Tues., Dec. 6 (7:05 p.m.) and Fri., Mar. 16 (7:05 p.m.)
The Ducks will host nine Friday contests, two Saturday games and 12 Sunday contests in 2011-12. November and March will serve as the busiest months of the season at Honda Center, with eight games scheduled in each month. In addition, there are four games scheduled for October, six for December and February, seven for January, and one for April. Anaheim will have a pair of season-long six-game homestands, including Nov. 25-Dec. 6 and Dec. 29-Jan. 10. The Ducks will compete in 12 sets of back-to-back games this season, three fewer than 2010-11 and five fewer than 2009-10.
Individual regular season tickets for all Ducks games at Honda Center will go on sale in September. Fans can secure seats now by becoming a 2011-12 Anaheim Ducks Season Ticket Holder. Season Ticket prices have been lowered by as much as 33% from 2010-11 and start as low as $12 per game. The Anaheim Ducks today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club’s 2011 preseason schedule. The Ducks will compete in seven preseason contests before the start of the club’s 2011-12 regular season campaign in October.
The Ducks will open the 2011 preseason schedule with back-to-back contests at Honda Center, taking on the Phoenix Coyotes on Sept. 20 (7:05 p.m.) and San Jose Sharks on Sept. 21 (7:05 p.m.). The club will participate in home-and-home exhibition contests against San Jose, Vancouver and Los Angeles, and face Phoenix once in preseason competition. Following three consecutive road games in San Jose, Vancouver and Los Angeles from Sept. 23-25, the Ducks will wrap up their exhibition schedule with home games on Sept. 28 vs. Vancouver (7:05 p.m.) and Sept. 30 vs. Los Angeles (7:05 p.m.).

Fans can secure seats to all four home preseason contests by becoming a 2011-12 Anaheim Ducks Season Ticket Holder. ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that right wing Corey Perry has been named a finalist for the 2010-11 Hart Memorial Trophy by the Professional Hockey Writers Association (PHWA). The Hart Trophy is awarded annually “to the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team.” The winner will be announced Wednesday, June 22 during the NHL Awards from the Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Hotel Las Vegas. Perry is attempting to join Wayne Gretzky (1988-89) as the only players from the local market (Ducks and Kings) to win the league’s most valuable player award.
“Congratulations to Corey on this very well-deserved honor,” said Ducks Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray. “His heart, work ethic and clutch performances all season make him a tremendous candidate for this award.”
Perry, 25 (5/16/85), becomes just the third player in Ducks history to be named a finalist for the award (no Duck has won the trophy). Fellow teammate Teemu Selanne was a Hart Trophy finalist in 1997-98 (finished third in voting), while Paul Kariya was the runner-up (second in voting) following the 1996-97 season. Only six other players from California-based teams have been Hart Trophy finalists in the history of the NHL. Of those six, two have won the award (Gretzky in 1988-89 with Los Angeles and Joe Thornton in 2005-06 with San Jose). One of only two Ducks to appear in all 82 games in 2010-11, Perry won the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy as the NHL’s top goal scorer with a career-high 50 goals and 98 points (50-48=98, +9 rating). He became just the second Ducks player to win the Richard Trophy (also Selanne in 1998-99).
A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Perry’s 50 goals in 2010-11 were the most by a Ducks player since Selanne had 52 in 1997-98. Among league leaders, he also ranked third in points and tied for fifth in power play goals (14) and shorthanded goals (4). In addition, his 11 game-winning goals co-led the league (also Washington’s Alex Ovechkin). His 22:18 average time-on-ice ranked second among all NHL forwards and first among all right wingers. Perry also led the league with 21 third period goals (no other player had more than 18 – San Jose’s Patrick Marleau) and was tops with 23 third period/overtime goals. His 21 third period goals were also the most in Ducks history (Selanne had 19 in 1996-97) and the most by any Western Conference player since Jonathan Cheechoo (SJ) had 21 in 2005-06. Over the last 20 games of the regular season, Perry led the NHL in goals and points (19-12=31 with a +12), lifting the Ducks to a fourth-place place finish in the Western Conference. The Ducks went 15-5-0 over their last 20 games. The 6-3, 212-pound winger was named the NHL’s “First Star of the Month” for March, and also received NHL “Stars of the Week” honors on four occasions in 2010-11: First Star of the Week on Apr. 4, Second Star of the Week on Mar. 28 and Third Star of the Week on both Mar. 14 and Feb. 7.
Selected by Anaheim in the first round (28th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Perry has appeared in 450 games over six seasons, scoring 168-201=369 points with 537 penalty minutes (PIM) and a +44 rating. Since his debut season in 2005-06 in which he scored 25 points, Perry has subsequently increased his point total in each of the next five seasons (25, 44, 54, 72, 76 and 98 in six NHL campaigns). Vancouver’s Henrik Sedin is the only other NHL player since the 2000-01 season to accomplish the feat. Perry has also collected 18-25=43 points in 54 career Stanley Cup Playoff contests, winning his first Stanley Cup championship with Anaheim in 2007. He has also won an Olympic Gold Medal (2010 Winter Games in Vancouver) and a World Junior Championship (2005) with Team Canada.
