Be Very Afraid

In case you missed it, Congressman John Conyers, with just a few words, made it very clear why people should worry about what's in the Health Care Reform proposal.

In case you missed it, The Detroit Democrat said, "...What good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?"

Watch the Congressman say it over and over again below.

  1. You're missing the point on this one. Advanced care is referring to the end of life health issues. Not everyone is aware that they can make choices ahead of time about what they want done when the end is near. Furthermore, your health decisions for advanced care need to be updated every 5 years or they can be challenged by a family member or a medical professional...so this section basically secures an individual’s right to make his or her own decision about whether or not extensive medical assistance is what he or she wants. So yes...a doctor can and must explain all the options...AND this is important. It has nothing to do with giving up medical care for the greater good. It has everything to do with individual control over your own medical future that no one can mess with.
